JazzFresno, the Fresno County Public Library, KFSR 90.7 and the Woodward Park Friends of the Library will host Jazz at the Library on Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at 7:00 PM virtually via Zoom.

This event will require a donation of any amount of your choosing; whatever you are comfortable giving. Please join us for a presentation by Mike Dana: “Six String Pillars”, guitar players who greatly influenced Mike. This Jazz at the Library presentation is more a personal history than a “history of jazz guitar” lecture.

Jazz guitarist Mike Dana will talk about six jazz guitarists (some famous, some not) that were key influences on him. These pillars inspired, motivated, and shaped Mike’s early development as a guitarist, and continue to guide his style today.

Mike will share some rare video clips and dig into his guitar collection to perform on some vintage instruments that these legends are associated with.

IMPORTANT NOTES
1.
This event will be a live virtual Zoom presentation. In order to attend the event you will need to download the Zoom app to your computer, laptop, phone or tablet.

Here is a link to a YouTube video that tells you how to download the Zoom app to your smartphone. The download procedure is similar if you are using a computer, laptop or tablet. Please contact us at jfjoelizama@gmail.com if you need assistance.

Watch the video at the above link to learn how to download the Zoom app. It is recommended that you download the free Zoom app right away and spend a little time looking at Zoom and getting acquainted with the platform; find out a little bit about how to navigate around Zoom. DON’T WAIT UNTIL THE LAST MINUTE TO DO THAT.

2.
JazzFresno will send you an email on the day of the event, (probably between 12:00 – 1:00 PM Pacific Standard Time), which will contain the Zoom invitation. You need to use the Zoom invitation link contained in that email in order to access the Zoom event. That is the ONLY email that will contain that link.

You will probably get an email from Eventbrite two hours before the event and 10 minutes before the event telling you to go to Eventbrite in order to access the Zoom event. That method WILL NOT WORK as we are not setting up the connection to Zoom through Eventbrite. Don’t go to Eventbrite. Use the email containing the full Zoom invitation that will be sent out between 12:00 – 1:00 PM on the day of the event.
